KNOW YOUR ENEMY: THE MERRIMACK WARRIORS
• Merrimack has won five of its last six contests after beginning the season with a pair of hard-fought losses at North Dakota and hasn't played since Nov. 1, when it posted a 5-3 victory over Boston College to remain a perfect 5-0 at home.
• Junior Chris Barton (7g, 3a) and Hockey East October Rookie of the Month Stephane Da Costa (6a, 4a) have each tallied a team-high 10 points thus far. Half of Da Costa's points came via a five-goal performance against Army on Oct. 17. Senior defenseman Pat Bowen has added nine points on the strength of a team-best eight assists.
• Senior Andrew Braithwaite and sophomore Joe Cannata have split starts this season with each goaltender appearing in four games. Braithwaite holds an edge in both goals-against average (2.52-3.02) and save percentage (.914-.908) and has won three of his four starts.
• The Warriors' offense ranks tied for seventh in the nation, scoring 3.75 goals per game, while its penalty kill also ranks seventh, operating at a 89.6-percent success rate (43-of-48).
BU NOTES
• With the 1-0 loss at Northeastern, the Terriers were shut out in an opposing rink for the first time since March 12, 2004.
• BU was unbeaten in its last 12 regular-season games (10-0-2) against Maine until Sunday's 3-2 setback in Orono.
• Sophomore Chris Connolly scored his first goal of the year on Sunday against Maine on his 31st shot on goal.
• The Terriers' 2-5 start is its worst through seven games since the 1998-99 season, when they went 1-5-1 to open the year.
• Last season, the Terriers were 5-0-0 when allowing exactly three goals. This season, BU is 0-4-0 when allowing an opponent to score three goals.
