Hockey East Weekend Update

  • UMass edged New Hampshire 4-3 in overtime to remain in first place in the conference.  David Boehm scored 2:05 into overtime to lift the Minutemen.  Sophomore Casey Wellman forced the overtime with a goal with 11 seconds left in the third period.
  • Freshman forward Brandon Brodhag scored twice and junior defenseman Fraser Allan contributed three assists as Merrimack earned a 6-3 win against Boston University on Friday evening at Lawler Arena.
  • Matt Mangene had three assists while Robby Dee and Adam Shemansky each had a goal and an assist as Maine skated to a 6-2 win against Northeastern on Friday night at Matthews Arena.  Northeastern currently leads Maine 3-1 in the third period in the second game of the doubleheader.
  • Freshman defenseman Colin Wright scored two goals and senior Nevin Hamilton made 19 saves to help propel UMass Lowell to Friday evening's 3-1 win against Alabama-Huntsville.
