BU Hockey Midweek Report

Chiasson and Warsofsky doubtful for weekend games; Rollheiser and Bonino making progress

Some notes from today's men's hockey practice:

• Sophomore defenseman David Warsofsky will likely not play this Friday against Merrimack.  According to head coach Jack Parker, Warsofsky apparently should not have played in last Sunday's 3-2 loss against Maine.  Warsofsky, recovering from a hip-abductor injury, could have used the extra rest, according to Parker.
• Freshman forward and leading goal-scorer Alex Chiasson was injured and practice and is questionable for Friday's game as well.  Chiasson was injured after sustaining a hit from teammate Eric Gryba during a drill.  Ironically enough, Gryba has been doing the most damage this season to his teammates rather than his opponents.  Granted they were both accidents, Gryba also was involved in Warsofsky's injury two Saturdays ago against UMass-Lowell when the two of them collided with a River Hawk player.
• Parker noted that sophomore goalkeeper Grant Rollheiser has felt good all week, and is close to 100 percent.  Parker was hesitant to say whether Rollheiser would see any action this weekend, saying that he would wait and see how he feels tomorrow, and then he would have to get back in game shape before he starts a game.
• Nick Bonino is close to making his return, although that appears to be one more weekend away, according to Parker.
