Boson University Men’s Ice Hockey 2009-2010 Season Preview

Broadcaster Gary Thorne sums it up appropriately with this now-famous call:
“Rebound held on to. Twenty seconds. In the middle, pass, SCORE! UNBELIEVABLE! BOSTON UNIVERSITY HAS SCORED TWO GOALS…IN THE LAST MINUTE…AND HAS TIED THIS GAME AT THREE!”
By now, it has become lore and legend, not only on the campus of Boston University, but across the collegiate hockey landscape.
The improbable comeback. The odds defied. The celebration that, for so long, seemed as if it would never be. The 2008-09 Boston University Terriers reached every attainable height and accomplished every possible task that was laid before them. Every championship trophy from each tournament they participated in was collected, admired, and then tossed aside: placed on the mantle for others to gawk at, while the team set its sights on the one accolade which mattered most: national champions.
And they did just that, even when destiny seemed poised to derail them on their journey.
Now, they’re back. But among the vast array of questions surrounding this squad as the eve of the regular season approaches, none ring out more so than this: How do these young men put the greatest season in Boston University men’s ice hockey history in the rear-view mirror and move forward?
