Know Your Enemy: The Riverhawks

•  UMass Lowell is coming off a pair of home wins, having defeated Colgate last Friday by a score of 5-3 before posting a 3-1 league victory over Northeastern on Saturday. The River Hawks’ other two contests came at the Ice Breaker Invitational, as they earned a 3-0 shut- out victory against St. Lawrence in their season opener before falling, 4-3, to tournament host Nebraska-Omaha in the championship game.
• Junior Scott Campbell (3g, 2a) and senior Kory Falite (2g, 3a) are the early team leaders with five points each.  Junior Maury Edwards, a 2009 First Team Hockey East All-Star, is not far behind with four points on one goal and three assists.  The River Hawks bring a balanced offensive threat to the table; nine players have already recorded a goal.
• Senior goaltenders Carter Hutton and Nevin Hamil- ton continue to share time in the Lowell goal, as both appeared in 19 contests a year ago. Hutton has started three of the games thus far, posting a .931 save per- centage and 1.69 goals-against average.
• Former BU associate head coach Blaise MacDonald is in his ninth year at the helm of the Lowell program and has a record of 129-138-34 at the school. BU Hall of Famer Shawn McEachern ‘91 is in his second season as an assistant coach for the River Hawks.

BU NOTES
· Tonight's contest is the first between the two teams since meeting last March in the Hockey East Tournament championship game.  The Terriers went on to win that game 1-0.  BU and UMass-Lowell were the preseason No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the conference in the coaches' poll.
· The Terriers begin a tough stretch of games without Nick Bonino, their starting center and top returning point-scorer from last season.  Bonino dislocated his shoulder in the first period of the Terriers' 3-2 victory against Michigan last Saturday and is expected to miss up to a month.
· BU won all three games against UMass Lowell in the team’s regular-season series, but the Terriers entered the third period either tied or trailing all three times. 
· BU is 17-1-2 in its last 20 road games.  In the last calendar year, the Terriers have lost just twice on the road, and both were against UMass at the Mullins Center.
· Ross Gaudet returns to the lineup after dislocating his shoulder before the second exhibition against the U.S. 18-U Team.  This will be Gaudet's first career start.
