Men's Basketball Picked to Win America East

For the third consecutive season, the Boston University men's basketball team was selected to win the America East conference in a vote among America East coaches. The tally:

1.) Boston University - 64 points (8 first place votes...unanimous selection)*
2.) Vermont - 56 points (1 first place vote)
3.) Albany - 43 points
4.) Stony Brook - 42 points
5.) New Hampshire - 39 points
t6.) Hatford - 28 points
t6.) UMBC - 28 points
8.) Maine - 14 points
9.) Binghamton - 12 points
*Coaches cannot vote for their own team.

New Terriers head coach Pat Chambers has a golden opportunity in his first year at BU. The team's top six scorers return, including preseason All-Conference first team honorees Corey Lowe ('10) and John Holland ('11).

It's no surprise that the Terriers hold the top spot yet again. However, BU has not won a conference title since 2002. With a talent-laden roster that can do it all, the Terriers have a great shot to reach the NCAA Tournament.
