BU Women's Soccer - Dynamic

The word dynamic has been used a lot by this year’s Boston University womens soccer team. Players and coach Nancy Feldman were echoing it after Wednesday’s 7-0 win over Bryant and again on Sunday, a 5-0 Terriers victory over UMBC.

“We are really getting dynamic in our attack and were being really strong up front,” said senior co-captain Mara Osher (’10) after Sunday’s regular season finale.

Referring to the team as dynamic really fits. On Wednesday, 10 different players contributed a point with seven different goal scorers. Sunday, five different Terriers found the back of the net, with eight players contributing a point. On the year, 17 of the 22 Terriers that have seen action have contributed a point. Nine players have two goals or more and eight players have two assists or more.

Let’s try not to get too far ahead of ourselves. This was Bryant and UMBC, both very young teams. But when you look at the way BU is clicking right now, outscoring its opponents 32-5 the last 11 games (10-1-0), the Terriers seemed poised to make another deep run in the tournament.

“I’m confident we’re going to have to bring our “A” game to win this thing,” said Feldman of the test BU will face come next Sunday.

NOTES

-Freshman midfielder Megan McGoldrick ('13) missed Sunday’s game and was on the sideline with a boot on her foot. Coach Feldman said it was a precautionary measure.

-Junior back Corie Halasz ('11) continues to rehab the stress fracture in her foot and could be ready to play for Sunday.
