Once Parker sat down, he said,"The first time I thought I saw a BU Hockey team show up was after we were down 2-0."

At that point in the game, he said, the Terriers "started to look like we knew what we were talking about...the problem is that it was for less than half a game."

Overall, Parker described his players as "non-poised, jumpy with the puck, and inept on the power play."

While the coach was disappointed with the play of his upperclassmen, he praised the play of freshmen Wade Megan, Max Nicastro, Sean Escobedo, and Ryan Santana. Parker chose not to mention freshman Alex Chiasson, who has scored the lone Terrier goals this season (he netted two against UMass last weekend).

When asked whether or not he was surprised at his team's underwhelming performance, Parker responded, "it didn't surprise me because I thought the last two practices after losing the game [3-2 to UMass] weren't too good either. You play the way you practice."

Looking ahead to Saturday's game against Michigan and the tough road ahead for the Terriers, Parker said, "our problem is not who we're playing, it's ourselves...We'd like to be 1-2 instead of 0-3, but I'm not worried about what Michigan is going to do to us, I'm worried about whether or not we can play."

When WTBU Sports spoke with Parker at Hockey East Media Day, he said that he would be "very happy" if the Terriers won three out of the first five games this season. At the time, three wins seemed very manageable. Now, after dropping the first two games of the year in dismal fashion, a 3-2 record sounds more like a pipe dream.

After the Terriers host the Wolverines on Saturday, they'll take on Hockey East rival UMass-Lowell in a home-and-home series on the weekend of Halloween.
