Women's Hockey Playoffs

In just their third season, the Boston University Terriers will be making their first ever appearance in the Women's Hockey East Championship Tournament. The Terriers finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-16-3, while posting a league mark of 11-9-1.

The Terriers' 23 conference points put them in a tie for third at season's end with Providence College. The Terriers will enter the tournament as the four seed, however, after losing the tie-breaker to Providence (the two teams split the season series 1-1-1, but Providence's one point against UNH gives them the edge).

Semifinals action is set to get underway Saturday, and the bracket looks like this:

12:00 pm
#1 University of New Hampshire vs. # 4 Boston University

3:00 pm
#2 University of Connecticut vs. #3 Providence College

The Terriers will certainly have their hands full with UNH, who enters the tournament after an undefeated conference regular season, at 20-0-1. Even more impressive, UNH is unbeaten in their last 16 contests overall (15-0-1), and their last 38 league contests (35-0-3).

WTBU will have the call of the Terriers-Wildcats game, with pre-game coverage starting with Terriers Today at 11:40 am. Puck drops at noon, and Justin DeSantis and Jeremy Binckes will have the call on the main stream, at www.wtburadio.org.
