Men's Hockey East Awards

On Thursday night, five Terriers were honored at the Hockey East Championship Banquet for their accomplishments throughout the 2007-2008 season.

Freshman forward Colin Wilson was named the Pro Hockey Ambitions Rookie of the Year. Wilson has had a solid freshman campaign so far, posting 35 points (12 g, 23 a), good for third on the team. It marked the second time in three years that a Terrier has taken home this honor (Brandon Yip, 2006).

Senior forward Bryan Ewing was honored as the Hockey East regular season scoring champion. Ewing posted 35 points in conference play, with 17 goals and 26 assists. Ewing also received the Humboldt Storage and Moving "Three Stars" Award.

Junior forward Chris Higgins took home the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship award. Higgins received just three minor penalties in 26 games this season.

In addition, Ewing, who was runner-up for the CCM/RBK Player of the Year Award, was named to the conference's first team, along with senior forward Pete MacArthur and junior defenseman Matt Gilroy.

The Terriers are set to take on the University of Vermont Catamounts in the Hockey East semifinals Friday night at the TD Banknorth Garden at 8 o'clock. The Catamounts are coached by Kevin Sneddon, the Hockey East coach of the year. The game can be heard on the WTBU Alternate Stream beginning at 7:40 pm.
