#6 Men's Basketball vs. #2 Hartford - America East Semifinals

The Boston University Terriers' season came to an end on Sunday, as they fell to the University of Hartford Hawks, 59-52. The Hawks (18-15) avenged their 31-point loss to the Terriers from just 10 days earlier, as the Terriers could never find their stroke. The Terriers shot 33.9% from the field for the game, including an abysmal 15% (3-20) from behind the three-point line.

Hawks sophomore guard Joe Zeglinski, and Terriers sophomore guard Corey Lowe led all scorers with 16 points apiece. Hawks junior big-man Warren McLendon added 13 points, while providing a dominant presence inside. McLendon played a part in limiting sophomore forward Scott Brittain to just 7 points for the Terriers.

The Terriers kept within striking distance of the Hawks all game, but were never able to bridge the gap. They trailed 26-21 at the half, and the deficit ballooned to as large as 14, after McLendon hit a surprising three-pointer, with 5:20 left to play.

The Hawks now travel to UMBC to take on the Retrievers for the America East Championship, and an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. For the Terriers, their season ends in the semifinals of the AE Tournament for the second straight year. But as the only team in AE without a senior, if the Terriers can keep this team together, their future should be bright.
