McGuirk Reinstated as Captain (1/15/08)

Senior Brian McGuirk has been reinstated as a captain for the Boston University Terriers men's hockey team, as announced today by head coach Jack Parker.

McGuirk was suspended along with three other teammates on December 5 for a violation of team rules, and was stripped of his captaincy as a result. Senior Pete MacArthur took over as captain following the suspensions, which were lifted prior to the December 30 game against Merrimack. McGuirk and MacArthur will serve as co-captains for the remainder of the season.

"Brian has handled everything very well," Parker said in a statement. "He has shown a great deal of maturity since returning and has continued to be an important leader for this team. He has earned the `C' back and then some."

McGuirk and the Terriers will be back in action tonight when they play host to the Dartmouth Big Green at Agganis Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 pm, and can be heard on WTBU, with Terriers Tonight kicking things off at 7:10.
