Men's Ice Hockey Suspends Four Players

It was announced today that four members of the Boston University men's ice hockey team have been suspended indefinitely by head coach Jack Parker for violating team rules.

The players suspended include senior captain Brian McGuirk, seniors Bryan Ewing and Dan McGoff, and junior Brandon Yip. Ewing leads the Terriers in points, with 17, on 6 goals and 11 assists. Yip, the 2006 Hockey East Rookie of the Year, has been an integral part of the Terriers' offense since joining the team.

"I'm disappointed that these four chose to break one of our team rules," said Parker. "This is strictly a team matter."

As a result of the suspensions, senior Pete MacArthur has been named captain of the Terriers. Senior Ryan Weston and junior Matt Gilroy will serve as assistant captains. MacArthur, the Terriers' second leading scorer, was named Hockey East's player of the month for November. MacArthur tallied a league high 15 points in nine games during the month, including tallying a point in 7 straight.
